Position 1: Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities:

Technical

Responsible for:

  • To provide coaching and support for shift members covering a designated machine area.
  • To held regular team meetings to coordinate and prioritize the team tasks (manufacturing, process and equipment engineering involved).
  • Escalate in case of delays or conflicts according to escalation chart.
  • Work closely with other team members to achieve individual and team goals.



Production Equipment Ownership and responsibility:

  • Maximum machine availability (production equipment) and minimum downtime for production (for designated area).
  • Organize preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Optimization of maintenance procedures and maintenance strategy.
  • Creating maintenance instructions, out of control procedures and BKM's.
  • Training, certification and further education/ development of technician skills.
  • To use SAP, SPC and other relevant software to detect trends and maintain machine stability.
  • Vulnerability analysis and detailed troubleshooting.
  • Ensure reliable equipment performance (Tool-Matching).
  • Instructing / teaching and managing of vendor/contractor service personnel.
  • Making optimal use of its own and third party maintenance service.
  • Ensure gapless documentation of work and changes done at the production equipment (in terms of parameter, hardware and software changes).
  • Planning and implementation of upgrades, alterations or retrofits to the machines.
  • Work together with manufacturing and shift maintenance members as well as process and equipment engineering to prioritize the tools “down” state.
  • Backup of the installation software, log files and important system parameters.
  • Compliance with prescribed calibration schedules (measuring components).



Optimal spare parts supply

  • Contact for spare parts dispatchers (Logistics dept.).
  • Definition of material requirements, material master data, material availability.
  • Setting of minimum stocks.
  • Identify and use potential "alternative source" parts and/or suppliers.
  • Planning and controlling of costs and spare parts consumption.
  • Minimal cost with best quality (matching equipments, reduced scrap, etc.).
  • Trigger and tracking of "Down" - deliveries (down orders



Comply with environmental and working safety

  • Ensure safe and environmentally working conditions and procedures.
  • Implementation of all safety relevant topics regarding designated area into work instructions.
  • Provide regular teaching and training on hazards in work area.
  • Ensure exhaust scrubber and pump maintenance if applicable



Continuous improvement of the equipment and staff

  • CIP programs together with HQ and equipment engineering (benchmarking).
  • Benchmark / knowledge exchange with other offices, departments, manufacturers.
  • Close communication with shift maintenance members (information sharing).
  • Validate improvement ideas and drive.



Collaboration with:

  • Process dept. - Maintenance and security of production recipes.
  • Equipment engineering dept. - Equipment design, layout and installation.
  • Purchasing, process & equipment dept. – Preparation of requirements and specifications for new equipment purchase.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), or equivalent.
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Good knowledge of FMEA, risk analysis / assessment.
  • Knowledge in statistical tools and problem solving methodology.
  • Must have good equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
  • Able to write reports and procedures.
  • Familiar with MS Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
